Biography

Ms Priya Singh is a Lecturer in the fields of Delict, Maritime Law, Succession, Medical Law and Internet Law. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (B Com) degree summa cum laude, a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) summa cum laude, degree from the University of Natal and a Master of Laws(LLM) from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN).She is especially interested in the impact of Hindu law on Hindu women in South Africa and keenly monitors the historical impact of Hindu law focusing particularly on how traditional Hindu law is diverging from changing family roles, composition and structures of the Indian diaspora. In addition she has an especial interest in internet law and its impact on current South African law. Her other research areas include medical law, delict and maritime law. Singh is an admitted Attorney and Notary of the High Court of South Africa
