Law Student Eyes Mr South Africa International Title

Twenty-three-year-old final year Bachelor of Laws student, Mr Luthando Mbanjwa, is amongst the 18 young South African men who will represent the country in the 2019 Mr South Africa International pageant.

Mbanjwa said that he was thrilled to be selected from the 76 entries. ‘This is the biggest competition I have entered in my five-year modelling career and I am very excited to represent my country and hopefully win myself a car,’ he said.

He added that his dream of giving back to his community inspired him to pursue a career in law. In his spare time, he teaches young girls and boys modelling, dancing and life skills through the My Beauty, My Inspiration campaign. ‘This helps me to relax in the midst of my studies and will also play a vital role when applying for my articles,’ he said.

Mbanjwa has won more than 10 provincial and national titles, including Mr KwaZulu-Natal, Mr Glenwood, Mr Dolphin Coast, Mr Pinetown popularity, Mr Zululand Tourism, Mr Amahle Benefits Scheme, Mr City Life, Mr Ekasi, Mr Summer, Mr uShaka Marine World Public Choice, and Mr HIV Ambassador South Africa. He also represented UKZN at Mr Durban Varsity where he made the top seven.

Mbanjwa appealed to the UKZN community to help him make it to the top six in Mr South Africa International by SMSing WIN KSA014 to 44739 before the final leg of the competition on 16 June. There is no limit on the number of times a person can vote. ‘I also request assistance with raising the R6 000 required to cover all my expenses by 1 June,’ he said.
