Biography

Ms Simone Gray is a Lecturer in the fields of Constitutional Law and Accounting for Legal Practice. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Master of Laws (LLM), both from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (Pietermaritzburg). She also holds a Master of Laws (LLM) degree specializing in Human Rights Law from the University of Cape Town, which she obtained as a Mandela Rhodes Scholar. 

Ms Gray has a background in public interest law, having worked as an attorney at a legal NGO championing the rights of disadvantaged and marginalised communities. 

Ms Gray is currently pursuing a PhD in the area of sexual and reproductive health rights with a specific focus on obstetric violence.
