
Lecturer
Dr Sandhya Maharaj is a lecturer in the School of Law, and has a specific interest in substantive criminal law and criminal justice. She has served as a Candidate Attorney at Legal-Aid South Africa and subsequently worked in private practice as a Conveyancer and as a criminal defence Attorney. In 2017, she graduated with her PhD and thereafter served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at UKZN, School of Law, Pietermaritzburg. She currently lectures modules in Specific Offences, Evidence, Civil Procedure and Advanced Criminal Law (LLM).
