Biography
I am an attorney of the High Court with immense experience and expertise in international refugee law. I have practiced in the area of refugee law in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng. I have also attended the School of Forced Migration Studies at the University of Oxford. I have worked at reputable human rights organisations such as the Legal Resources Centre. I also headed and managed various refugee programmes whilst working as an attorney at Lawyers for Human Rights. I have worked closely with the agency of the United Nations, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. I have also worked with other international organisations such as the International Organisation for Migration. In addition to being a lecturer at the School of Law, I also work as a supervising attorney at the UKZN Law Clinic where I specialise in civil matters such as evictions, domestic violence and applications for refugee visas.
