Ms Salina Govindsamy is lecturer in field of Property Law and Negotiable Instruments at the School of Law. Prior to her appointment as a Lecturer, Salina was a practising attorney at a firm in Umhlanga where she specialised in Commercial Law, Intellectual Property, Consumer Law and Property Law.
During her career in practice, Salina represented international commercial clients in commercial arbitrations involving contract disputes, intellectual property disputes as well as brand protection and consumer disputes. From 2011 to 2017, Salina provided pro bono training to Shanduka Black Umbrella which provides incubation programmes for young entrepreneurs and SMMEs.
Salina welcomes requests from prospective LLM students for supervision.
Salina is currently pursuing her PhD in intellectual property and innovation strategy.
