Biography
Dr Phemelo Magau is a Lecturer in the School of Law. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB), Master of Laws (LLM) with Mercantile Law and Doctor of Laws (LLD) with Mercantile Law from the North-West University (NWU). He has the record of being one of the young black South Africans to complete his LLD in two years at the age of 25 years.
Before joining the University of KwaZulu-Natal School of Law in July 2021, Dr Magau served as an Academic Assistant and later on as a Lecturer between 2019 and 2021 at the NWU. As an emerging academic, Dr Magau is very passionate about pursuing his lifetime career in academia, with a specific focus on mercantile law and related aspects. This is evident from, among others, an emerging track record of publications and postgraduate supervision on his name as well as his active involvement in most vibrant academic platforms, including conferences.
