Ms Nomfundo Mthembu is a lecturer in the fields of Constitutional Law, Human Rights and Bioethics. Prior to joining the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Mthembu was employed as an Ad-Hoc lecturer in the field of Business Law at the Durban University of Technology. She also served as a volunteer paralegal for a legal NGO based in KwaNyuswa.
Ms Mthembu is currently a doctoral fellow with the Health Law and Ethics Research Interest Group. Her research interests spans across the protection and promotion of human rights in the context of new reproductive health technologies, constitutional law and competition in healthcare. She is currently pursuing a research project based on competition law in the healthcare sector.
